Housing and Homelessness Assessment

Buffalo, New York's second-largest city, is known for its rich history, cultural diversity, and architectural gems. Positioned on Lake Erie's eastern shore, it was once an industrial hub, whose economy has since deindustrialized. Buffalo boasts a vibrant arts scene, historic parks, and is engaged in addressing urban challenges such as homelessness and housing affordability, making it a key area for related studies and initiatives.

Critical Junctures Consulting is working with Buffalo to examine the state of homelessness in the city, the impact of its housing programs on homelessness, and to develop strategic opportunities for future success.

2023 Coordinated Entry Evaluation

The Homeless Alliance of Western New York (HAWNY) is the lead agency for both the Continuum of Care (CoC) and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) in Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Erie, Niagara, Genesee, Wyoming, and Orleans Counties.

Critical Junctures Consulting was contracted to complete the annual Coordinated Entry Evaluation manded by HUD. Critical Junctures worked with HAWNY and their strategic partners to gather relevant data from consumers and direct service workers to improve their coordinated entry process.
